महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील दारिद्र्य रेषेखाली जीवन जगत असलेल्या मातंग आणि तत्सम समाजातील जीवनमान उंचावणे, समाज प्रवाहात त्यांना मानाचे स्थान मिळण्याच्या उद्देशाने त्यांचा शैक्षणिक, आर्थिक आणि सामाजिक विकास होण्यासाठी मदत व्हावी म्हणून महाराष्ट्र शासनाने लोकशाहीर अण्णा भाऊ साठे विकास महामंडळाची स्थापना कंपनी कायदा अधिनियम १९५६ (१) च्या तरतुदीनुसार सामाजिक न्याय विभागाअंतर्गत दिनांक ११ जुलै १९८५ रोजी केली आहे. मातंग समाजासाठी लेखणीद्वारे खऱ्या अर्थाने सामाजिक प्रगतीची प्रेरणा निर्माण करणारे लोकशाहीर अण्णा भाऊ साठे या वंदनीय विभूतीच्या नावाने स्थापन झालेल्या या महामंडळाद्वारे
मातंग समाजात अंतर्भाव असणाऱ्या पुढील १२ पोट - जातीतील व्यक्तींना अर्थसहाय्य करण्यात येते. (१) मांग (२) मातंग (३) मिनी-मादींग (४) मादींग (५) दानखणी मांग (६) मांग महाशी (७) मदारी (८) राधे मांग (९) मांग गारुडी (१०) मांग गारुडी व शासन निर्णय संकीर्ण - २०१२/क्र. ३१ महामंडळे दिनांक २२ मे २०१२ नुसार (११) मादगी (१२) मादिगा ह्या दोन पोट जाती समाविष्ट करण्यात आलेल्या आहेत.

साहित्यरत्न लोकशाहीर अण्णा भाऊ साठे आर्थिक विकास महामंडळाची अनेक वर्षांपासून प्रलंबित असलेली कामे चालू करण्यात आली असून त्याचाच एक भाग म्हणून बीज भांडवल योजनेतील लाभधारकांना दि. ५ जुलै रोजी प्रातिनिधिक स्वरूपात उद्योग धंद्यासाठी कर्ज मंजूर करून महामंडळाच्या हिश्याचे अनुदान देण्यात आले.

Sahityaratna Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe Development Corporation was set up by the Government of Maharashtra to act as a proponent of the Companies Act, 1956 (1) for ‘Matang’ & other Subsequent communities living below the poverty line to assist them to improve their living standards in terms of education, financial status and social development. The corporation was formed under Social Justice Department on 11th July, 1985. It is formed under the influence of honorable legendary personality Loksahir Anna Bhau Sathe who inspired the Mathang community by his stylus literature.
Financial assistance to the next 12 sub-castes which gets covered in Matang community are - (1) Mang (2) Matang (3) Mini-Madi (4) Mading (5) Dankhani Mang (6) Mang Mahashee (7) Madari (8) Radhe Mang (9) Mang Gurudi (10) Mang Garudi - As per GR – 2012/No. 31 Corporations, dated 22nd May 2012 (11) Madgi (12) Madiga, these two sub castes have been included.

The new developments which were pending for many years for Sahityaratna Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe Development Corporation have been started recently. As a part of that, the loan was sanctioned for various businesses under the Seed Capital Scheme and it’s grant was disbursed to the beneficiaries on 5th July.
